This is an all acoustic smooth jazz song featuring the great Rodney Jones on guitar, the great Carl Allen on drums, the great Christian McBride on bass, the great Jose Claussel on percussion and the one and only Mulgrew Miller laying down some groovy piano. This one makes me happy and is great song to take a nice drive on the lake while listening.
You can pre-order the return of Nouveau Swing!!!
Last month I recorded the first acoustic real jazz/trap version of "Old Town Road," by Lil Nas X. The song just became the longest number one song on Billboard Magazine's Hot 100. I recorded the song with an acoustic jazz quartet to bring to life my idea of a balanced trap/swing mixture which incorporates my dance experiences coupled with my experiences from playing with 100's of jazz masters. The song features myself on saxophone, the great Chris Severin on acoustic bass, Shea Pierre on piano and Thomas Glass on drums. We are getting comments that we found a balance that speaks to jazz heads and trap music lovers as well. It is being played on radio stations along side Louis Armstrong, Freddie Hubbard, Christian Scott, Prince, Lil' Nas X and others. It speaks to folks across musical boundaries. I love making music that brings people together while creating a new sound. The song is now available for pre-order on iTunes and Apple Music.
