A nouveau swing style modern acoustic jazz track which incorporates the history of jazz, soul music, salsa, reggae, the blues, second-line, trap hip-hop, bossa nova, and post-bop.

Harrison created a unique omniverse jazz song, "The Magic Touch," by incorporating ideas from the multiple traditional versions of the same composition on this recording into a coalesced modern jazz concept. Harrison used his experiences playing with the master innovators of every jazz era and other music forms to create the next level of his Nouveau Swing concept.

His idea was to record a jazz song incorporating a broad-based fundamental understanding of other styles. He worked diligently to master composing, producing, playing, recording, and leading bands in multiple formats. This work led him to his concept and the knowledge all music is connected and uses the same components.

Harrison, with drummer Joe Dyson, pianist Dan Kaufman, and bassist Nori Naraoka, created a new template with the contemporary acoustic jazz version of "The Magic Touch." It incorporates Harrison's life and experiences into a concise sound. The quartet understands Harrison's call to merge the history of jazz and other forms of music to create sound. They have all performed many genres with Harrison and work like a school of fish through their musical universe. Joe Dyson redefines the sound of the drums with new ideas for ride patterns and mixes jazz, soul, Afro-Cuban, Afro-New Orleans, funk, and hip-hop ideas. He also adds many ideas he is developing.

Nori Naraoka plays many concepts simultaneously. He mixes funk ostinatos, walking half-time, walking regular time, and playing across time into sublime support and ideas that spark the band.

You can hear McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock in Dan Kaufman's playing. You hear funk and other forms. You mostly hear his creativity shining through.
